Design For The Children
Theme: Develop a sustainable, culturally responsive, pediatric clinic model for East Africa.
Open to: Anyone. No restrictions are on status, job, age or nationality.
Registration Deadline: 15 October 2008.
Prize: Winners will be invited to join Fight For The Children and competition administrators at the selected site for the opening of the clinic.
International Open Ideas Competition
Theme: The entrants are asked to formulate, both in text and images, a vision on the two competition themes: new concepts and dynamics of city and campus. This vision should be presented in a sketch design for a new Bouwkunde on the existing site, or on a well-argued, alternative site.
Open to: Entry is open to architects and urban planners and students following a degree programme in the area of architecture, urban planning, civil engineering or industrial design. This is an glpbal competition.

Prisoned 2009: International Student Design Competition
Theme: Design a philosophy on what imprisonment is or should be, and create an architectural design to express that philosophy.
Open to: Individual or a group of students from any country.

FuturArc Prize Competition 2009
Theme: Entrants
have a choice of two briefs -- Option 1 is a hypothetical project set
in the near future for which entrants may select a site in the cities
in which they reside. The second is an actual project brief and site
contributed by a developer in Indonesia.
Open to: Competition is open internationally to any Individual or Team
Deadline: 31 December 2008
Prize: A total prizemoney of 33000+ Singapore Dollar.
Theme: Show your creativity by using your technical, artistic, or writing skills to design a ride, attraction, hotel, or a land within an existing Disney theme park or resort. Or create an entirely new experience, a theme park, themed restaurant or unique dream of your own. Original ideas may be presented in many ways, such as:

* Storyboards

* Building Design (floor plans or elevations)

Open to: Team of at least two participants. Each team participant must be (1) a college student with Junior, Senior standing, or full time graduate student standing. Prize: All finalist teams win a 10-day all-expense-paid trip to California where they get to present their projects to Walt Disney Imagineering executives, compete for “Best in Show” awards and be interviewed by hiring managers.
